Late July-August
Tigers Nest will have a whole range of teachings over the coming months of teachers, spoken word, wild walks & events in 2010. Highlights include James Low, Keith Dowman, and a journey to Ladakh.
High in the remote Himalayas is the ancient kingdom of Ladakh, known as “ The land of the passes”, Ladakh is the most remote region of India, a dramatic high altitude desert, which lies on the western edge of the Tibetan Plateau.
A magical land, immersed in times woven blanket by Buddhist prayers, clad in the rainbow of prayer flags that sit high on the mountain passes, reminding us of another world. This is truly the last Shangri La, where enchanting monasteries cling to the edge of cliff tops, looking out onto the vast mountain peaks and piercing blue skies.
For 8 months of the year, Ladakh is cut off from the rest of the world, shut by extreme winter temperatures that can fall below -30. Ladakh is situated on a high altitude plateau, between 3000 and 4000 metres above sea level, whilst most of the people are related to the Tibetans and follow the Tantric Buddhism. In the summer of 2010, Tigers Nest is offering a unique and inspiring for 10 people on a journey to Ladakh.
The journey will be unique because we will be staying with one of the greatest traditional healers from this ancient kingdom and be guided to remote mountains, sacred caves, to awe inspiring monasteries & staying with families rather than in tourist hotels.
There will also be the opportunity to do a short retreat high in an ancient hermitage being taught the profound meditation instructions of the buddhist masters. If you would like more details and are seriously interested in coming along then please send an e mail to dharmawheel@hotmail.com before July 1st 2010.

The cost of the 16 day trip will be around £1000 including all meals, transport in Ladakh, accommodation and guides. The flight prices will be about £500 from Europe. Of course, you are also welcome to stay on in Ladakh or India for as long as you want after the trip. With
Warm Wishes and all the very best,
